24h / 7 Day Emergency Vet Service

TEL: 01395 267928 or 01392 284217

If you need to see a vet urgently, we are a member of the Exonia Veterinary Emergency Services. To access this emergency service, simply phone: 01395 267928, our usual number, and the telephone will be diverted to the new Out-of-Hours Service automatically.

‘’EVES is staffed by an experienced and friendly veterinary team. As the team do not work during the day, they are always fresh and ready to respond to your call in the evening or at night. Whether it is simply for some advice over the telephone, or to see you and your pet the team will be delighted to help you.’’

When you call the team will take some details from you to ascertain the nature of your pet’s condition/your concerns. They will then provide advice on how urgently your pet needs to be seen. If the vet advises that it is best not to delay until the morning to see your pet, you will be asked to come down to the veterinary hospital near Exeter St Davids station. Your pet will be assessed by the vet when you arrive and appropriate treatment will be given.

The vet and nurse team remain on-site all night and if your pet has to stay in with them you can rest assured that he/she will be closely monitored throughout their stay (cuddles come free with the service!). Provided your pet is well enough, you will then be able to bring him/her to see your vet back at White Lodge Surgery for follow up treatment the following morning.

EVES will ensure that they pass all of the details of your pet’s condition, any test results and any treatment given back to White Lodge Surgery by the time of opening to allow the White Lodge team to continue caring for your pet.

If you are ever worried about your pet whilst White Lodge Surgery is closed then please don’t hesitate to call the EVES team for advice. No call is too trivial and you will always be able to speak to an experienced member of the team. Not only does it give you peace of mind but in our experience the earlier a problem is addressed the quicker your pet can get onto the road to recovery.

Exonia Veterinary Emergency Service, hold RCVS Small Animal Veterinary Hospital accreditation and have also achieved additional awards from the RCVS, including ‘OUTSTANDING’ awards in both in-patient services and client care.
